About me
I am a contemporary jeweller working to create bold experimental jewellery pieces. Within my practice, I primarily use acrylic and wood, whilst using Computer Aid Design processes to create my work. Through my third year of university, I have found inspiration in music. Through this, I developed a style and context for my work, while looking at the rich history and culture in music and deconstructing it. I used shape and colour to interpret it into a three-dimensional piece of jewellery. By looking at the pioneers within blues music, I have tried to interpret the essence of these artists into a piece of wearable memorabilia. Experimenting with scale and tactility has given my work a unique edge, and is one of the key components that has helped to translate the music into physical forms. It is also one of the processes I enjoy within my creative routine. My work generally has the wearer in mind, due to the fact they become one of the components to the pieces; how they interpret the work is part of my process. Additional to this, I feel my pieces have always had a fashion element to them, but this is something that I am still developing.
